Tax Update: Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond

Do you know how the tax law changes scheduled for the end of 2025 will affect your personal and business taxes?

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017 was the biggest tax overhaul in over 30 years. The TCJA made substantial changes to the rates and bases of both the individual and corporate income taxes, most prominently cutting the maximum corporate income tax rate to 21 percent, redesigning international tax rules, and providing a deduction for pass-through income.

While many of the corporate tax changes were permanent, the majority of the personal tax changes were temporary with a scheduled sunsetting for the end of 2025. It is anticipated that the government will pass legislation to extend / modify these sunsetting tax provisions, which will have a direct impact on the taxation of your business consulting income, one way or another.

Please join us to hear Matt Foley and Tim Weeks from LGA, LLP provide a refresh of the key provisions of the TCJA, the impact of the sunsetting of the personal tax changes on your business consulting income, and an outline of what to expect in the coming months, including:

  • Choice of entity considerations in a period of tax uncertainty
  • Changes in tax brackets and various deductions
  • Changes for C-Corporate tax rate
  • The fate of the 20% pass-through deduction
  • AMT changes
  • Creditor protection considerations
  • Other trust and estate items

Matt, Tim, and their firm provide accounting, audit, and tax services to individuals and small businesses. Like all SPC meetings, this one will be interactive, and Matt and Tim will be glad to respond to your questions.

There's no charge for this workshop.
