How
can we be sure the referral chair is impartial? He or she is also a consultant
looking for work, so don't they have an advantage? |
The current Referral Chair, like all SPC consultants,
has a focused area of expertise and he is in the same situation that you are in
when an SPC lead is generated. This means that most of the leads do not apply
to his area of expertise, just like most of the leads usually may not apply to
your specific area of expertise. Once in a while a lead will be generated that
you will feel qualified to handle and the same is true for the Referral Chair.
As of today, the current Referral Chair has not bid on a single one of the
leads generated by SPC during his term. In fact, there were several leads that
he felt were in his area of expertise, but he did not bid on them so as to
avoid any hint of an advantage or a conflict of interest. ALL of the leads with
ALL of the known information is emailed to ALL SPC Members at the SAME TIME,
regardless of the Referral Chair's interest. In the event that he does intend
to pursue a lead, he will do so only after all other SPC Members have been
notified, and for the few qualified members that request the contact info for
the lead, the Referral Chair will inform these SPC Members that he is also
going to pursue this lead.
.
Webmaster's Note: Other than one paid
administrative person who handles all membership related activities, SPC is a
100% volunteer organization. Our objective is to provide the best service for
SPC members possible given the time we all can devote to SPC. If any SPC
members feels they are not obtaining maximum value from this organization they
are certainly welcome to attend a board of director's meeting and voice their
opinion. Anyone is welcome as a volunteer to help further the goals and
objectives of SPC
